Cockroach Control • Wellington, FL

Wellington Cockroach Control — for palmetto bugs outside and German roaches within.

Wellington deals with two very different roaches: big palmetto bugs (American cockroaches) that fly in from mulch and sewers, and German cockroaches that breed indoors and spread through the lakefront and 55+ condo communities. Bugsy’s treats each the right way — exterior harborage for one, precision baiting for the other.

Two roaches, two completely different problems

The large roaches most Wellington homeowners call “palmetto bugs” are American cockroaches. They mostly live outdoors — in mulch, sewers, tree holes, and landscaping — and wander or fly indoors on warm, humid nights. Seeing them isn’t a sign of an unclean home; it’s a sign of our climate.

German cockroaches are the opposite — small, indoor-breeding roaches that hitchhike in on boxes and groceries and multiply fast in kitchens and bathrooms. In condos and multi-unit buildings they travel between units through shared walls and plumbing. They require baiting, not just spraying, to truly eliminate.

The two roaches we treat

Correct ID drives the whole approach.

Palmetto Bugs (American Roaches)

Large outdoor roaches that come in from mulch, sewers, and landscaping — controlled by treating exterior harborage and sealing entry points.

German Cockroaches

Small indoor-breeders that infest kitchens and travel unit-to-unit — eliminated with precision gel baiting and monitoring, not blanket spraying.

How our cockroach service works

1

Inspect & identify

We confirm the species and find harborage — exterior for palmetto bugs, interior for German roaches.

2

Treat correctly

Exterior harborage treatment and sealing for American roaches; targeted gel baiting for German roaches so the colony collapses.

3

Building-aware strategy

In Wellington condos and multi-unit buildings, we coordinate treatment across shared walls so roaches aren’t just pushed next door.

4

Monitor & maintain

Recurring service and monitoring keep both roaches out through every season.

Seeing palmetto bugs even though your home is spotless?

That’s normal here — American cockroaches live outdoors and wander in on hot nights. Effective control focuses on the exterior harborage and entry points, not just what you see inside.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I see big roaches even though my house is clean?
American cockroaches (palmetto bugs) live mostly outdoors in mulch, sewers, and landscaping and come inside on warm, humid nights. They reflect the climate, not cleanliness, and are controlled by treating exterior harborage and entry points.
What’s the difference between palmetto bugs and German roaches?
Palmetto bugs (American roaches) are large and outdoor-living; German roaches are small and breed indoors in kitchens. They’re treated completely differently.
Why won’t store-bought spray get rid of German roaches?
German roaches resist and avoid many sprays, and spraying can scatter them. Precision gel baiting that the roaches carry back to the harborage is what actually eliminates the population.
Do you treat condos and apartments?
Yes. In Wellington’s multi-unit buildings we coordinate building-aware treatment because German roaches travel between units through shared walls and plumbing.
Are the treatments safe around food and pets?
Yes. We use targeted, low-impact methods and place baits where they reach roaches but not your family, with any brief precautions explained.
