Drywood Termite Control

Drywood termites, gone —
without tenting your home

Most companies tent for drywood termites: they cover your entire house, pump in fumigant, and move your family out for at least three days. Bugsy’s doesn’t tent. We treat drywood termites with BoraCare® and targeted spot treatments applied directly to the wood — so you stay home, keep your food where it is, and skip the evacuation entirely.

What drywood termites do

Unlike subterranean termites, drywood termites live inside the wood itself — no soil contact and no moisture required — which is why they turn up in attics, framing, trim, and even furniture.

They live in the wood

Drywood colonies nest directly inside dry, sound structural wood — rafters, framing, window and door trim, and hardwood furniture.

Telltale frass

They push distinctive pellet-shaped droppings (frass) out of tiny “kick-out” holes — small piles of what looks like coarse sand or sawdust.

Localized, but spreading

Colonies are smaller than subterranean ones, but left alone they establish in multiple spots throughout a structure over time.

Tenting vs. our no-tent approach

Tent fumigation is the industry default for drywood termites — but it’s disruptive and leaves no lasting protection behind. Bugsy’s offers a targeted alternative, and we do not perform tent fumigation.

Approach What it involves What it means for you
Tent fumigation (we don’t do this) The whole house is sealed under a tent and fumigated with gas. Vacate for a minimum of 3 days, bag up food & medicine, and no residual protection once the tent comes off.
BoraCare® + spot treatments (what we do) Borate treatment of accessible wood, plus targeted dusting and foam injection into active galleries. Stay in your home — no evacuation — with long-lasting, warrantied protection in the wood.

How we treat drywood termites

1

$99 termite inspection — credited to your treatment

We confirm drywood activity, locate galleries and kick-out holes, and identify the affected wood — with a written report. The $99 fee is applied to the cost of your treatment.

2

BoraCare® wood treatment

A borate solution is applied to accessible attic and crawlspace wood, soaking into the timber to protect it against drywood termites long-term.

3

Targeted spot treatment

Where activity is present, we dust voids and foam-inject active galleries directly — treating the infestation at the exact spot it’s found.

4

Warranty & renewal

Full BoraCare treatment is backed by a warranty with a low monthly renewal, so your protection stays in place.

Whole-area BoraCare treatment is priced by the square foot; localized spot treatments start at $495 per area. Warranty coverage applies to full BoraCare treatment. Your exact quote is confirmed at the $99 inspection.

No tent

Stay home while we handle it. No sealing your house, no three-day hotel stay, no bagging your pantry — just targeted treatment applied directly where drywood termites live, backed by a warranty on full BoraCare service.
